Lawrence Man Hit By Police Car In New Hampshire Identified

State police in New Hampshire have identified the man hit by a police cruiser on Sunday, July 23, at a busy intersection in Hampton, NH.

Orlyn Medina Mercedes, 35, was struck around 7:15 p.m. on Ashworth Avenue near the corner of Ocean Boulevard and Nudd Avenue by a Hampton police officer responding to a medical emergency, New Hampshire State Police said. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, but his injuries and condition were not released. 

The Hampton police officer behind the wheel of the patrol car was not injured. Their name was not released. 

New Hampshire State Police are handling the investigation. Officials have asked any witnesses to the crash or anyone with information to contact Trooper Tyler Dodd at Tyler.M.Dodds@dos.nh.gov.
